Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 687.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Production quality has diminished since previous o We had a previous version that lasted for almost six years; this one warped in just 30 days.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hope It Keeps Running Second one of these I’ve had. First one lasted 2 & 1/2 years before dying. Ordered replacement which was back ordered over 6 months. Had difficult time starting as hands were slipping on spindle. Also quit when put battery cover back on. Currently running with battery cover off after gently placing on wall. Hands not slipping. Wish me luck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought Twice; Failed Twice after a Year I have purchased two of these clocks and both failed after about 2 years. Beautiful clocks, but totally unacceptable to have such a short lifetime. Looking at these reviews, it seems Frontgate must know of this issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pretty but useless I have ordered this clock several times thinking the next one would be of better quality, but each time, the clock lasted a year at most and sometimes not even that long. It is a beautiful clock and I loved the way it looked, but have decided to see if I might find another that would perform better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pretty, but not long lasting I'm writing this review for a parent who received this clock as a gift. She loves how the clock looks, but after one year it became purely decorative, not functional. Too bad. I wouldn't recommend this unless you don't mind replacing it frequently.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty but... Very nice looking clock - loved the copper & the fact that it gave more than just the time - but... had less than a year and the white backing somehow ripped and then soon after the hour hand went kaput - tried to get into the back to possible repair it, but that is impossible to do. Totally bummed cuz i really liked the look of it, but not worth the price tag!!!

How is the time set?

I currently have an outdoor clock like this that I would like to replace. It has a feature that allows it to "self-set" the time via radio frequency. How is the time set on this clock?
Asked by: cnk0203
You manually adjust the time by turning a dial on the back of the clock. At least you only change it twice a year.

Would this clock withstand Arizona summer temperatures up to 120 degrees but under a patio cover?

Asked by: Launabess
I would say yes as Texas heat index was as high as 110. We have higher humidity with dew points of 70. It is a durable clock. Ours is under covered patio above our entrance door. Great question!

How do you calibrate the temperature and humidity. There were no instructions in the package.

Asked by: tricitygal
I have a thermometer with a humidity gauge. I used that to set the readings on the clock. If you don't own a gauge, maybe borrow one from a friend.

What is the battery life?

I bought the clock that is similar to this but has numbers. I cannot locate it anymore on the website nor can I find my old email confirmation that I ordered it. Anyway, how long should the batteries last? We've only had it for a few months, less than 5 months, and I've already replaced the batteries twice. I just changed them two weeks ago and today the clock was dead again.
Asked by: giancyndi
My clock is in a pool house. I had to replace the batteries after 2 years. I think the length of time depends on the brand and type of battery

How do you get temp. & humidity to work.

When we removed from box it was 60 degrees and 38% Rh. It has been outside for over 3 hours and hasn't moved. My other outside thermometer says it is 78 degrees. Do I need to do something to back go clock? I did add a battery so the clock works. HELP please. It just arrived today.
Asked by: Babushka
Use the Weather Channel's online app for your exact area (by zip code) to get accurate temperature and humidity numbers for your area. Use the easy calibration wheels on the back side of the clock to set to match. The error rate is very small. You may have to check the weather channel a couple times to get the best match but it does work. The temperature and humidity are not battery controlled, they run by a spring so will always work even if battery dies. Battery only runs time. We love the clock, once calibrated it is extremely accurate. KT

What type of masonary wall hanger did you use for this clock?

Asked by: mrabysbaby
I used a screw-hook/pot hanger in the eave. I then added a decorative chain, opened the end/last link, and hooked it into the little "notch" where the clock would normally hang on a nail or screw. Works great!

Why doesn't it say this clock is for outdoor OR indoor?

Obviously this clock should be able to be used indoor as well as outdoor & have much better longevity indoors. That is what I purchased it for & I hope it is effective indoors.
Asked by: kstacy52
We bought this clock to use indoors. We replaced an indoor/outdoor clock which was also from Frontgate. This clock looks great indoors and it will probably last longer since it is indoors.

Rust-proof

It says "weather-resistant". What about rust-resistant?
Asked by: dlms
No, it is not rust-proof. This type of material is generally quite susceptible to rusting in damp or humid climates. Rust will quickly deverlope if this clock is scratched or chipped in any manner. The inside bottom lip is the first place that you should expect rust to start developing if water can get behind your clock. Rust can be slowed by annual respraying of a clear coat spray paint such as Rustoleum (either gloss or satin). With annual respraying, the closck should last five or more years.
