Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasts a year or two only! Love the design of this clock! The first one we purchased lasted only a year. We thought it was a fluke and Frontgate was fabulous and replaced it. The second one lasted less than 2 years! The clock is well covered and not exposed to the elements, so we were surprised by the second one failing as well . Frontgate now says there is nothing they can do - it is outside the 1 yr warranty window. So just beware - it is pricey, even at the sale price, to replace every year or two. no matter how lovely it is!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very impressive I received this clock for a birthday gift july 2016. The clock worked great until May 2017 at that point it would no longer keep time. It looked as though the hands of time slipped down the shaft in the center of the clock and would no longer keep time. I did call frontgate and they said to send it back to them and they emailed me a return UPS label. It wasn't easy to locate a box that fit this huge clock. I had to custom make my own. I am still waiting for a replacement clock. So, only time will tell.....LOL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Repeat Purchase - Needed Two! I had purchased the clock thermometer for a previous residence and loved it. When I acquired a new home, I missed its elegance on my patio immediately purchased a new one. The item is very durable, accurate and maintains a lovely patina over time. Endless enjoyment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from oxford clock I purchased one years ago and it stopped keeping the correct time. So I bought another. I liked the size because we can see it from our pool. but the temp and humidity are never ever correct and has never been correct on either clocks. that's because the clock sits in direct sun light. so don't count on them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked for 2 years This was my second outdoor clock purchased from Frontgate. The first was a beautiful radio controlled outdoor clock. It lasted about 5 years under our covered patio. The second clock we purchased was this one with a traditional movement. It was also on the wall on our covered patio and lasted just over 2 years. In contrast, we have an inexpensive, old kitchen wall clock purchased 25 years ago in our garage (covered, not temp controlled) and it still works! I guess they literally don't make them like they used to. The quality of Frontgate products seems to be diminishing. I don't mind paying $$$ for quality, long lasting items. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I bought this clock to hang on the wall of my covered patio. It looks nice. It keeps the correct time. I don't really care about the temperature and humidity gage, but as far as I can tell they work also. It was easy to hang. It does not get rained on or direct sunlight. I like it because it is large enough to see from the pool area. It looks good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clock that rocks! I have this clock on the deck of our lake house and love it. The finish has stayed well and it's easy to read at a glance. I gave this to my daughter for Christmas to hang by their pool and everyone can see it while playing volleyball, grilling, etc. she loves it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I've been looking for a nice, well made, outdoor clock that has a sense of class. This clock was soooo nice!! Very well made. Very classy hanging on the brick on the back patio. The gauges were all accurate within 24 hours. Good price for a great outdoor clock!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Clock but Clock Issue This is my second clock. We keep it on the wall of an indoor 3 season room in NYC. After a couple of years the clock stopped working. I called and asked if I could buy a replacement movement. I was told no they don't sell replacement movements and my clock is out of warranty; therefore, no replacement. They also told me that the clock doesn't work because I left the batteries in during the winter. I'll be sure to remove the batteries this winter. Let's see how long this one lasts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy Clock We've been searching some time for the perfect clock for our patio and we found it! It's the right size to be seen from across the yard yet not obnoxious when we're sitting underneath it by our table and chairs. The face is clear, the time and temperature are accurate, and the color makes it very classy. Frontgate has quality products!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My clock died after 2 1/2 years It was outside - under cover and the mechanism just stopped one day. Frontgate offered $25.00 toward the purchase of a new one. Meh, I'll try someone else's and see if it lasts longer.

How is the time set?

I currently have an outdoor clock like this that I would like to replace. It has a feature that allows it to "self-set" the time via radio frequency. How is the time set on this clock?
Asked by: cnk0203
You manually adjust the time by turning a dial on the back of the clock. At least you only change it twice a year.

Would this clock withstand Arizona summer temperatures up to 120 degrees but under a patio cover?

Asked by: Launabess
I would say yes as Texas heat index was as high as 110. We have higher humidity with dew points of 70. It is a durable clock. Ours is under covered patio above our entrance door. Great question!

How do you calibrate the temperature and humidity. There were no instructions in the package.

Asked by: tricitygal
I have a thermometer with a humidity gauge. I used that to set the readings on the clock. If you don't own a gauge, maybe borrow one from a friend.

What is the battery life?

I bought the clock that is similar to this but has numbers. I cannot locate it anymore on the website nor can I find my old email confirmation that I ordered it. Anyway, how long should the batteries last? We've only had it for a few months, less than 5 months, and I've already replaced the batteries twice. I just changed them two weeks ago and today the clock was dead again.
Asked by: giancyndi
My clock is in a pool house. I had to replace the batteries after 2 years. I think the length of time depends on the brand and type of battery

How do you get temp. & humidity to work.

When we removed from box it was 60 degrees and 38% Rh. It has been outside for over 3 hours and hasn't moved. My other outside thermometer says it is 78 degrees. Do I need to do something to back go clock? I did add a battery so the clock works. HELP please. It just arrived today.
Asked by: Babushka
Use the Weather Channel's online app for your exact area (by zip code) to get accurate temperature and humidity numbers for your area. Use the easy calibration wheels on the back side of the clock to set to match. The error rate is very small. You may have to check the weather channel a couple times to get the best match but it does work. The temperature and humidity are not battery controlled, they run by a spring so will always work even if battery dies. Battery only runs time. We love the clock, once calibrated it is extremely accurate. KT

What type of masonary wall hanger did you use for this clock?

Asked by: mrabysbaby
I used a screw-hook/pot hanger in the eave. I then added a decorative chain, opened the end/last link, and hooked it into the little "notch" where the clock would normally hang on a nail or screw. Works great!

Why doesn't it say this clock is for outdoor OR indoor?

Obviously this clock should be able to be used indoor as well as outdoor & have much better longevity indoors. That is what I purchased it for & I hope it is effective indoors.
Asked by: kstacy52
We bought this clock to use indoors. We replaced an indoor/outdoor clock which was also from Frontgate. This clock looks great indoors and it will probably last longer since it is indoors.

It says "weather-resistant". What about rust-resistant?
Asked by: dlms
No, it is not rust-proof. This type of material is generally quite susceptible to rusting in damp or humid climates. Rust will quickly deverlope if this clock is scratched or chipped in any manner. The inside bottom lip is the first place that you should expect rust to start developing if water can get behind your clock. Rust can be slowed by annual respraying of a clear coat spray paint such as Rustoleum (either gloss or satin). With annual respraying, the closck should last five or more years.
