Lasted Less Then 4 Years
Disappointing experience. The hydraulic hinges Rusted and ceased, then tore free from the lid. They can not be repaired because they were embedded in the bio resin during the manufacturing molding process. The lid now slams down and is dangerous to fingers when loading and unloading. We are worried someone will get hurt. I do not recommend.

Does the job but...
This storage chest does the job: keeps cushions dry; easy open lid stays shut; roomy. BUT it’s not as attractive as pictured. The plastic finish (gray) is shinier than expected and looks like a giant ice chest. I would have loved one of the other models which has an all weather wicker exterior, but reviews said they leaked. So I picked function over form.

Will keep waxed. Handles should have washers to keep the lid from splintering.

The box is heavy and sturdy and looks really nice. The biggest negative is the fact that the top does not close flush to the bottom. There isn't enough tension in the hydraulic hinges to get the top to close (and the top itself isn't heavy enough to keep the unit closed tightly). If you want an air tight box, this will not do the trick.
On the positive side, they were happy to send me another unit when I complained--unfortunately the lid issue was the same.
Bottom line is that this isn't worth the hefty price if it can't shut properly.
