Oriental design small area rug.
This carpet is placed next to the bed as one steps out of bed. It is well made, nice and thick and the colors are vibrant and pleasing to the eye. The weave is tight and one can tell by looking at the underside that is is well made and hand hooked rather than machine loomed. The size is also perfect for where it is placed. I would buy another one if they had it in a different design.

Nice rug, but does not match picture
Folks, if you are considering purchasing an area rug from a website, you would be wise to read the customer reviews first. This is a really nice quality rug, but the colors are NOT like the picture on the website AT ALL. The web picture is bright and the actual rug is very subdued. The red is maroon, the turquoise is some kind of bluish green and the orange is salmon. In fact none of the colors actually match. We are going to keep it, but this is the last time we will order an area rug online. This has happened on another site as well. May I suggest that Frontgate takes a picture of the actual rug and inserts it into the web page listing. I know that dye lots are not guaranteed to match, but this is WAY OFF.

Doesn’t look anything like the picture - don’t buy
You see those vibrant colors in the photo, the bright reds and clean cream colors. Well, forget it. The reds are more like the color of partially dried blood, and the creams and neutrals are gray and dirty. Additionally, the quality feels like a $25 Rug. Don’t buy it.

Buying another one
I bought a runner more than a year ago and it holds up beautifully... just a lovely, quality piece. Back to buy a matching piece.

DON'T BUY THIS RUG
VERY DISAPPOINTED. WE ORDERED THIS RUG FOR A CLIENT IN SAN FRANCISCO. HAVING BEEN AN INTERIOR DESIGNER FOR OVER 40
YEARS I UNDERSTAND DYE LOT VARIATIONS. THE RUG WE RECEIVED WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE PHOTO ON LINE OR IN THE CATALOGUE. BUYER BEWARE COLORS ARE NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO THE PHOTOS.

Beautiful Rich Colors
Beautiful and vibrant colors just as shown on the website. A little tight on the corners, but they are smooth after a few days rolled out flat.

Love this rug!
I bought this to replace the Safavieh wool Rooster Rug in front of my kitchen sink that lasted for years, and I love the new look on my hardwood floors. The colors are not as vibrant as the picture depicts, but I like the soft hues of the rug. Would definately recommend it.

Colors in the Phoenix ivory/rust rug (based on reviews.) Two photos show rug in foyers. One foyer has yellow walls and rug colors are vibrant. Other foyer white walls/white chair and darker, muted colors. Which is more representative of true colors?
Thank you for your interest in the Phoenix Hand-hooked Wool Area Rug. The Ivory/Rust option has vibrant colors. The featured pictures appear different due to the lighting when the picture was taken.

Can this rug be steam cleaned? The care instructions appear to be generic and not specific to this rug. After 4 mo. my rug ls already needing cleaned
I'm concerned that this rug has picked up soil so readily. There is only two adults living in our home and regularly remove our shoes 90% of the time. It also had lose threads pop up by the third vacuuming. I was very cautious using only a bare floor attachment. I hate to have to pay the expense of having a 12' rug professionally cleaned after such a short time of owning it. I'm hoping you can send me a cleaning guide I can do myself. The dirt is mainly in the high traffic areas directly in front of our sofa's.
I took mine to a professional rug cleaner.

Does the ivory and black phoenix rug contain light blue? It is difficult to tell from the pictures.
SKEPTICAL ABOUT COLORS. THE RUG WE RECEIVED WAS NOT REMOTELY CLOSE TO THE PHOTOS. BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE PLACING
ORDER. I REALLY DON'T SEE ANY BLUE IN THE
IVORY & BLACK RUG.

How deep is the pile in this rug? i.e. fraction of inch
I measured a little over 3/8" but not quite a 1/2". I did not use a precision scale to measure.

Customer reviews complain about the represented color. Which picture-catalog or on line is more accurate?
Neither the online photos nor the catalog colors are even close to being accurate. The photos show the darkest color like a very dark, almost black navy where it is actually a much brighter navy. The bright rusty-red in the catalog is actually a dark cranberry with more of a purple to it. The pale yellow is actually a beige. The peach color is a pink-orange. The colors overall are more earthy than bright as shown in the catalog or online. If you can be flexible on the colors it is a nice rug, but if not, beware.
My photo is more true to color.

Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. The Phoenix Hand-hooked Wool Area Rug has some accents that are light blue, and some that are aqua.
