Lovely, Clear Colors, High Quality
This rug is durable and at the same time gives a classic touch to an area. I bought the smallest size as an entranceway mat in my office. I use this rug as purely decorative, not as a functioning doormat. It adds a pretty and solid note as people enter my office.
The one deficit was that this rug needed a few weeks to lay straight on the floor. I placed heavy books on all four corners each evening before leaving my office so that the corners would bend toward the floor and not inwards toward the middle of the rug.

Not as pictured
I was excited to get this rug on sale, but when it arrived the colors were very different than they appear online and in the catalog. The blues in person are very dull and there's a lot more of a brown tone throughout the rest of the rug. Unfortunately it won't work in my space.

Area Rug
This rug is very nice and of good quality. Delivery was great and earlier than the expected from the notice that we'd received. Love the colors and texture. I forgot, however, that a looped rug might be attractive to our cat, who has already pulled several strands loose. Wish I had considered that, as I am not sure the appearance will hold up over time.

Great Value, Subdued Colors
I purchased this for my dining room and couldn't be happier with the value. As I had been forewarned by previous reviews, I was expecting the new rug smell (which dissipated within a few days) and the colors are more subdued than in the bright picture (the darker picture is much more accurate) but just as nice, as long as you're expecting this. It's a beautiful rug for the money and I've received many compliments on it!

Great!
The colors in the rug are as shown in the catalog and are beautiful. The rug appears to be very good quality and was an excellent value for the price. Just recently received the rug so cannot yet comment on durability.

Misleading but Stunning
I ordered this rug based on the coloring in the primary website image. In the image there is light blue and ivory color around the edge. When receiving this rug the light blue detail was a muted green and the ivory was much more tan. The red is a deep rust rust red not a bright red. The middle of the rug was pretty well depicted in the images but our coffee table covered most of the lighter parts of the rug. The second picture on the website is much more accurate. I was hoping that it would lighten up the room and instead it made it dark and warm. Beautiful rug for a room with lots of natural light but didn't work in our home. The rug felt very well made and of high-quality but the rug came with a small pull in the side and would not be best for a high traffic area.

Perfect thickness
I ordered these for a few spots just inside an entry door. A perfect size and thickness. A much classier version of the standard entry mat. Add a great splash of color in a usually blank space.

Beware...colors are NOT what you see online
I had high hopes for this rug...the navy you see is what sold me on the rug. HOWEVER - when it arrived the navy was actually a light blue and the light blue colors were sage green. Do not purchase this rug if you are doing so based on the colors you see online!!

Beautiful Rug, a little deceiving.
I bought this rug for my parents home to be placed in a low foot-traffic area. It came and we all loved it- but the colors were a little deceiving. They matched the color scheme in the room perfectly(better than anticipated), but the light blue and the turquoise green on the outer border was not as advertised in the pictures on the website. Much darker, but it worked out well for us in that aspect. Although it isn't as durable as we thought it would be. I ended up calling customer service two weeks after receiving it and the rug being in place to see what we could do about the multiple (10+) pulls in the hooking. I was told they can't be trimmed, so I ended up getting my shipping money refunded. It's a great rug, but it looks worn after a short amount of time.

Looks like an expensive rug (Great Value)
We saw this rug in the Frontgate catalog a few months ago but continued to shop for a rug. After looking at more expensive rugs in stores and online we decided to order the Phoenix Rug.
Although the colors are more subdued than pictured
it looks great on our hardwood floors in the great room.
We are pleased with the quality of this rug.
Because the rug is new we can't rate the durability hence the 4 star rating.

Rug Purchase
I think we will enjoy the rug but will be interested to see how it holds up versus the more expensive "Persian Rugs". It would have been nice to get some info on how best to clean the rug in the future and whether we can spot clean it. I call it a sheet with a title of something like "Care of your new Phoenix Hand-hooked Wool Area Rug".

Phoenix Area Rug
We bought this 8'4"X5'3" area rug for my study because of its aesthetics and its price. We recently replaced the tile floor of my study with mahogany planks and the rug dresses up the floor very nicely. The quality of workmanship is excellent. Though I'm satisfied with the purchase, I think the actual colors in the rug are not as vivid or vibrant as in the picture. The colors in the rug itself are more muted. I would also recommend buying a pad for the rug. The attractive price of the rug is due in part, I think, to its relative lack of density.

Just right
I was looking for a small, traditional but colorful rug for a downstairs powder room. I was very pleased with the quality, thickness, color and pattern. The online description and color shot was accurate. I'm pleased with the purchase that arrived much earlier than I had expected.

Great color!
Finally ordered this rug after admiring for months. Had to figure a place I could use it. It's perfect in my entry way in the 5x8 size! The colors are lovely and really brighten the space. Not sure about durability since I've only had it a short while. It arrived in great shape and doesn't seem to be creating a lot of fuzz as many new rugs do! I'm very happy with the purchase.

Not as expected
Wool rugs should be plush and soft. This rug is harsh like a synthetic fiber. Plus it smelled horribly for the first week after opening.

great purchase
I bought the 8' round rug for my master bath. It arrived yesterday, and I love the rug. My husband who is very hard to please, likes the colors, quality and feel of the rug. The colors are light rust, cream, light gold border, and a deep rust throughout the rug....very pretty This rug can be used in any room.

Beautiful, but colors differ from photos
When I saw this rug in a few photos online and in the catalog they were all different in color so I called to find out which photo was accurate. I was told the darkest color was black, which is what I wanted, but when it arrived it was actually a bright navy. The other colors are more earthy and darker than the brilliant colors in the photos. The red is more of a dark cranberry or maroon, not brick (orange-red) like the photo. The yellow is actually beige and the peach is more of a pink-coral. The second band around the perimeter looks beige, but is sage. The quality is good for the price and it is an attractive rug so I kept it to use in room other than the one I intended to use it in. I am only giving four stars because the colors are still off in the photos online and in the newest catalogs even though many reviews have mentioned the problem.

Much more lovely than anticipated
This lovely vibrant rug now resides under my dining table offset by two much larger orientals and I believe I now prefer the look and feel of the new addition. For such a reasonably priced rug I never expected it to look so luxurious.

Great Rug!
I bought the smaller rug to lay in the threshold of my office. It's super thick, but not too soft, well-made and sturdy. Great colors and looks like it costs 10X as much!

Phoenix Rug
Colors are misrepresented in catalog and on website. Rug appears a nice red with coral ....in reality when it came it was burgandy and pink. Closest Front gate for me is 3 hours away....disappointed.

Colors in the Phoenix ivory/rust rug (based on reviews.) Two photos show rug in foyers. One foyer has yellow walls and rug colors are vibrant. Other foyer white walls/white chair and darker, muted colors. Which is more representative of true colors?
Thank you for your interest in the Phoenix Hand-hooked Wool Area Rug. The Ivory/Rust option has vibrant colors. The featured pictures appear different due to the lighting when the picture was taken.

how many knots per square inch?
Thank you for your interest in the Phoenix Hand-hooked Wool Area Rug. This rug is hand-hooked not knotted. This rug does not have any loops. It is made out of 100% wool pile with a cotton backing.

Can this rug be steam cleaned? The care instructions appear to be generic and not specific to this rug. After 4 mo. my rug ls already needing cleaned
I'm concerned that this rug has picked up soil so readily. There is only two adults living in our home and regularly remove our shoes 90% of the time. It also had lose threads pop up by the third vacuuming. I was very cautious using only a bare floor attachment. I hate to have to pay the expense of having a 12' rug professionally cleaned after such a short time of owning it. I'm hoping you can send me a cleaning guide I can do myself. The dirt is mainly in the high traffic areas directly in front of our sofa's.
I took mine to a professional rug cleaner.

Does the ivory and black phoenix rug contain light blue? It is difficult to tell from the pictures.
SKEPTICAL ABOUT COLORS. THE RUG WE RECEIVED WAS NOT REMOTELY CLOSE TO THE PHOTOS. BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE PLACING
ORDER. I REALLY DON'T SEE ANY BLUE IN THE
IVORY & BLACK RUG.

How deep is the pile in this rug? i.e. fraction of inch
I measured a little over 3/8" but not quite a 1/2". I did not use a precision scale to measure.

Customer reviews complain about the represented color. Which picture-catalog or on line is more accurate?
Neither the online photos nor the catalog colors are even close to being accurate. The photos show the darkest color like a very dark, almost black navy where it is actually a much brighter navy. The bright rusty-red in the catalog is actually a dark cranberry with more of a purple to it. The pale yellow is actually a beige. The peach color is a pink-orange. The colors overall are more earthy than bright as shown in the catalog or online. If you can be flexible on the colors it is a nice rug, but if not, beware.
My photo is more true to color.

What country is this rug imported from?

Is the light blue in the rug a true cool light blue or more aqua? It appears aqua.
Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. The Phoenix Hand-hooked Wool Area Rug has some accents that are light blue, and some that are aqua.
