Pineapple Torches, Set of Two is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 151.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Perfect Accessory for pool and patio evenings Pineapples are the traditional sign of hospitality and these make the perfect statement. They are so beautiful and they light so easy and are very sturdy . The flame makes a lovely glow against the night and says come and enjoy our home. They are made well. I bought six to surround my patio and water fountain at one end of my pool. They look lovely, day or night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! These are sturdy, beautiful pieces! We purchased 4 for our back yard and the look great!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks really great but The top of tank connection where wick screws in is vented and allows rain water into the oil tank. After time the wicks get soaked with water and will not light. The wicks then need to be dried in the sun and tank drained. Design could be improved by adding a separate vented water proof oil fill port, and the wick connection made water tight. The post where tank screws into also holds water. Don't leave outside all year, the tanks wear, and post s show signs of some rust. I would buy a again, but with now will cover them after use to preserve finish and prevent water from filling tsnk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look great but a little too pricey These torches look very nice around our pool area. Appear well made however we did spray them with a clear coat to give them better protection from the harsh salt environment in Florida. I initially purchased four and liked them so much I bought two more! I also purchased the matching bases . I wish they weren’t so expensive I would purchase six more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Torch Wicks We have 7 brand new wicks sitting in a plastic bag waiting to be sent back because none of the wicks burn at all. We have used the pineapple torches for years and for the most part have not had a problem until recently. I will buy them and have to throw away half. This time we have decided to send them back. But that makes us mad because now we have to pay to send them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finely crafted and excellent quality I bought these torches before Christmas and keep admiring them every time I pass by them in my basement! I think i need one more pair (to complete a set of 6) then our torches will be the envy of all the neighborhood backyards!

Cleaning/polishing top of torches

The answer given in FAQ was that info would be obtained from mfg'r. That was 4.5 YEARS ago. I have the same question but not a long expected life span.
Asked by: TBDatGburg
I found the best way to restore these torches is to spray them with Permatex 81849 Rust Treatment. It is a clear spray that brings back the beauty in these torches. I do this every other year (tops, caps and poles) and they look almost new.

are the copper canisters available seperately?

Water has gotten into my canisters. I can't seem to dry them out. Do you have a suggestion or can I buy just the canisters without having to buy the pole etc.?.
Asked by: Kerney
Water getting into the canister is a design defect and even if you replace the canister you will have the same problem over and over again. I have not been able to solve the problem and have had gallons of the paraffin oil ruined by rain water. Some have fixed this by installing an O-ring or a large rubber washer, but I have not found one that works.

Does anyone have experience with using these torches in Forida's extreme heat and humdity?

After reading the reviews, there seems to be a reoccurring theme about discoloration, peeling and rain intolerance of the copper bowls. As I currently live in Florida, these torches would be outside year round and would be exposed to rain and high humidity. Therefore, I am most interested in the experiences of customers who own these and also live in a semi-tropical or tropical environment.
Asked by: DrG2
The torches do come with a notification that the canisters will darken with age and can be buffed with a soft cloth back to the original color. A little TLC along the way should keep them nice.

Burning Time

How long does the paraffin liquid gel burn? Does it dry up if not all used the night of burning? Last question: How many refills does one (1) bottle of paraffin gel go (4 sold separately) ?

If no base, why are specifications included?

Another Q&A question states no base is included, but the dimensions tab include specifications for a base: Pineapple Torch Base (61733): 11" sq.; 22 lbs. Is this included or not - if not, how do I source with base?
Asked by: MichaelB
We appreciate your interest in this item. The base is not included with the purchase of the pineapple torches (item 48781). We did offer them as a separate item, however we have sold out of our stock of the bases and will not be receiving any more. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Polishing the top

after ordering, frontgate provided info on how to polish them (we are a bit dissatisfied as another reviewer wrote, for the money, we thought the color would last a bit longer as we've only used them maybe 10 times since May 2012 and they have discolored on top where oil sits). We can't find info on how to rub them clean? thanks
Asked by: JaneyStv
This is Frontgate: Thank you for your interest in tthe Pineapple Torches. We have contacted the manufacturer to obtain more detailed dimensions regarding the cleaning of these torches. Once that information is available, we will let you know. Thank you for your patience.

Stake in the ground

Will this item stake into the ground? We purchased the regent which where beautiful but they do not stake into the ground...if these do what is the staked height? You really need more details on your website.
Asked by: Dpearl
These torches are spiked at the bottom so they do stake into the ground. For them to be stable we've pushed them in about 8 inches. I'm not sure of the total height now, maybe 5ft, but for us i would have preferred the stem to be another 12" in length. The torches are very well made and i'd recommend them for sure.
