What maintenance is required? Must the finish be reapplied? Can the chair be ordered unfinished?
Thank you for your interest in the Rowan Adirondack Chair & Ottoman. We apologize; this item is not able to be ordered unfinished. Care and maintenance for all our outdoor teak furniture includes covering when not in use, cleaning the pieces regularly, and storing in a covered area during harsh winter months. If you prefer to maintain the original color, annual application of a teak sealant and regular application of teak oil is recommended. Left untreated, the teak will develop a natural patina over time.

Can you describe the color of these chairs and the "weathered finish"? There is one photo where the color looks different than all the others photos. Also, has the color changed after being outdoors? Thank you.
Thank you for your interest in the Rowan Adirondack Chair. The different photographs were taken under different lighting. This chair is made of natural, grade A, kiln dried teak with a weathered finish, similar to a gray-wash. Left untreated, teak will develop a natural silver patina with age. By comparison, a Natural finish will be more of a honey color, but it will still lighten and develop the same patina over time if untreated.

How long can I expect an Adirondack chair to last outdoors? Merits of teak vs plastic?
Thank you for your interest in the Rowan Adirondack Chair. With the proper care this chair will last many years. Teak is durable, strong, resistant to weather, no cracking and easy to care for. If living in windy conditions plastic may be too light.

Best Adirondack Chairs on the Market
These chairs are fantastic! They are very attractive, solid and substantial. They were easy to put together and we now have six of them around our fire pit. It looks amazing! With the aged teak color they look like they've always been there. We did a lot of research on Adirondack chairs to find these and we are quite happy with the purchase. Thank you Frontgate.

Delightful to sit on, hard to assemble
I purchased two of these spectacular chairs. They arrived sooner than expected! Others thinking about ordering should be aware that assembly is challenging. The instructions are simple and straightforward, though I suspect subtle details have been omitted. It took three family member three hours to assemble both chairs! Because the size is large and the shape is unwieldy, assembly required a lot of stretching and shifting about on all fours. I couldn't be happier with the chairs fully assembled. One other detail to note: the shipper dropped them in my front yard without calling ahead or ringing the doorbell. They were out there for hours before I realized they were delivered and brought them to a secure spot.

Great Chairs!
I bought two of these chairs. I had to assemble the arms, back and seat. It wasn't hard but had one problem with only one screw on one of the arms. I tried over and over to get it to fit...just wouldn't budge....it was so close! Finally I took out the washer and voila! Worked. I'm not that great with putting stuff together but after trying over and over and over...many bruises (I'm 70...comes with the territory) I think I can live without that one washer. I'm happy and I love the chairs!!
