What maintenance is required? Must the finish be reapplied? Can the chair be ordered unfinished?

Care and maintenance for all our outdoor teak furniture includes covering when not in use, cleaning the pieces regularly, and storing in a covered area during harsh winter months. If you prefer to maintain the original color, annual application of a teak sealant and regular application of teak oil is recommended. Left untreated, the teak will develop a natural patina over time.

Can you describe the color of these chairs and the "weathered finish"? There is one photo where the color looks different than all the others photos. Also, has the color changed after being outdoors? Thank you.
Thank you for your interest in the Rowan Adirondack Chair. The different photographs were taken under different lighting. This chair is made of natural, grade A, kiln dried teak with a weathered finish, similar to a gray-wash. Left untreated, teak will develop a natural silver patina with age. By comparison, a Natural finish will be more of a honey color, but it will still lighten and develop the same patina over time if untreated.

Thank you for your interest in the Rowan Adirondack Chair. With the proper care this chair will last many years. Teak is durable, strong, resistant to weather, no cracking and easy to care for. If living in windy conditions plastic may be too light.

This chair even makes lemonade taste better!
We bought two of these comfortable, super well-constructed and story chairs and loved them so much we decided we needed two more! The originals are weathering nicely, though we keep them covered in the winter. I mean, you need to protect treasure, don't you? Worth every penny.

Fast and Fabulous!
My husband groaned when he saw the 4 big boxes and “assembly required”, but he quickly praised the chairs for the beautiful teak wood and the quick assembly. He was so impressed that he asked me to buy 4 more, and I did! We are loving our new chairs that will last for a long time and not be tossed around by our strong Texas winds.

Quality footrest
The footrests for my Adirondack chairs arrived months ahead of the scheduled delivery for the actual Adirondack chairs - so I cannot review how they fit and feel together. The wood has a beautiful grey finish and the quality of the product is high. It was a little difficult assembling the piece but once put together, it is a sturdy item. They repel water which beads up on the footrest which gives me hope that this will have a long life on my patio.

We love the chairs. We were really disappointed with the hardware to put together. I have ordered from Frontgate and thought it would be a quality product. Went to the hardware store for better bolts. Love the results.

For the price, I expected the assembly to me more seamless. Some of the holes did not match up. Luckily, my husband figured out a work around. The chair is very comfortable to sit in.

Assembly is challenging
I ordered two Adirondack chairs and matching footstools in AUgust. The footstools arrived shortly after and are a great quality. The low is a beautiful grey-wash tone. I received an email shortly after that the chairs would arrive in October. They just arrived and the wood is not the same as the footstools. I am not sure if this is a supply chain issue but they obviously are not the same. We are having the hardest time assembling them chairs. The screw/bolts are not long enough. I am not sure if the construction is different but my advice is to make sure they are shipped at the same time and that Frontgate is guaranteeing that the wood is the same. I am likely going to have to buy new bolts or hire someone to assemble it. I am frustrated and slightly disappointed in the chairs.

Customer service is poor.
Product quality is great. Customer service is terrible. Ordered 2 of these. Got the ottomans but only 1 chair. Lots of misinformation from the customer service people. I'm still out $15 but don't even want to talk to them again. I'll never order from Frontgate again.
