- What are performance table linens? These durable, yet elegant table linens have been specially coated to prevent stains from liquids such as wine and punch, making them perfect for every party. While our performance linens are machine washable, persistent stains may require dry cleaning.
- What is melamine? Melamine is a hard plastic that consists of a combination of resin and strengthening materials. The end result is colorful, dishwasher-safe dinnerware that is difficult to break or scratch - making it perfect for outdoor dinner parties and worry-free entertaining in any setting.
- What is the point of a wine aerator? Why do I need one? An aerator is a device that enables oxygen to infuse with your wine, creating an expanded bouquet and a smoother flavor, and generally enhancing the wine’s overall character. The more concentrated and dense a wine is, the more it will benefit from this process.
- What is the difference between a charger and a placemat? A charger is a large, decorative plate on top of which other dinnerware is placed. Chargers are meant to remain on the table throughout the meal, however they are typically removed after the main course and before dessert. Placemats are typically made of fabric or other material and are designed to be placed underneath a place setting at the dinner table for decorative purposes and for added stain protection. Chargers can be used with or without placemats.
- What type of dinnerware and drinkware is best for outdoor entertaining? - What size tablecloth do I need for my table? First you should determine how far you want your tablecloth to drop from the edge of the table. We recommend at least 8 to 10 inches drop for more casual events, and up to 15 inches for formal dinner parties. For rectangular tables, simply multiply your desired drop by two (for example, 10 inches of drop x 2 = 20) and add that number to both the width and the height dimensions of your table. This is the size of tablecloth that you need. For a round table, multiply the desired drop by two as before, but then add that number to the table’s overall diameter. If you don’t find the exact size you need, simply order the next largest size.
- How do I care for my dinnerware? Care for dinnerware made from materials such as earthenware and porcelain can vary based on a variety of factors. Specific washing information can be found on each item’s description page. Melamine dinnerware is dishwasher safe, however we recommend either using the top rack only or simply using your dishwasher’s light or gentle setting, which uses less heat.
- How do I care for my table linens? While most of our table linens are machine washable, others require dry cleaning or spot cleaning only. Specific laundering information can be found on each item’s description page.
