Why does this bed not work with an adjustable bed?

Are the metal support slats removable
Thank you for your interest in our Whitby Canopy Bed. The slats are separate from the frame upon delivery and need to be attached to the side panels. We do not recommend using this bed with out the support slats.

If I were to not use the canopy would the 4 posts still be apart of the bed or are they apart of the canopy?

Beautiful! Works perfectly with adjustable bed.
I ALMOST didn't get this bed because they don't recommend it with adjustable beds which is what I have. I am so happy with my purchase. It works beautifully with my split king adjustable bed inside. There was plenty of room and it does not scrape the head or footboard when you raise and lower the adjustable bed. It is absolutely beautiful and looks like it came out of a magazine. I can hardly wait for my new nightstands and lamps to arrive!

WHITBY Canopy Bed is heavenly!
I love this bed! Actually, let me be more specific. My husband loves this bed and everyone who has come into our home in the last 2 weeks loves this bed just as much as I do. Our bedroom is just off the entry so it’s hard to miss!
It’s absolutely stunning and looks better in person. If you’re on the fence- don’t be! Just get it! You won’t be disappointed!
