Gorgeous, but high maintenance
I took advantage of the $50 gift card Frontgate sent me to buy this item, not paying enough attention to realize at the time that I was buying ONE pillowcase, not the expected TWO. It had been marked down enough for me to have very little to pay beyond the amount on the gift card, so I popped for it. Perhaps you can imagine my surprise when my order came a few days later via Express Mail only to find one fancy little box containing just one pillowcase in it. I mean, who does that? Who sells (or buys) pillowcases one at a time??? Then again, this is my first foray into the upper reaches of luxury bedding, so we can write that off as my own lack of experience in the stratosphere. So, what do I think of my expensive silk pillowcase? It's gorgeous, butter soft, and it has an amazing sheen. Not only that, but it feels wonderful on my skin. At this point it has been washed, line dried, and lightly ironed. It still looks lovely, but unless you can afford to have someone else wash and iron your bedding for you, you may not want to consider buying the rest of the set, because you will be very busy trying to make it look as good as it did right out of the package. It was a worthwhile lesson, but I guess I'm not really ready for prime time when it comes to silk bedding. I hope you enjoy yours when you buy. Just be aware of what you're committing to when you do buy.
