Outdoor rugs are one of our favorite unexpected additions for the backyard. Not only do they provide playful patterns and pops of color, but they also create a sense of place, grounding the space and making it feel more approachable and warmer. A true outdoor living room.
But outdoor rugs aren’t all fashion and no function. Typically powerloomed and crafted from polypropylene, outdoor rugs are colorfast and resist UV fading, which is perfect given how much sun exposure they receive.
They are also mold-, mildew- and weather-resistant, which means they can stay out long after you head in. All you need to do is keep them clear of debris, vacuum them regularly and spray them clean with a hose as needed. After spraying, let them get nice and dry in the sunshine (a rug usually takes about 8 hours to completely dry).
For increased water drainage and to help hold your rug in place, we recommend investing in an outdoor rug pad. It helps prolong the life of your rug.
Outdoor rugs can be placed on any surface, from brick and stone to grass and gravel. Anywhere you want to create a fully appointed living space in the great outdoors, there’s an outdoor rug for you. You can even bring your rug inside if you love the style. With such easy maintenance, outdoor rugs are great for kitchens or homes with pets or small children.
